PoMoLoT Study
The potential of sustainable and intelligent mobility and logistics in Thuringia
What applies to the global economy also applies to the Thuringia economy in equal measure. Intelligent logistics as a cross-sectional function is a prerequisite and key to success for the fields of economy growth and specialisation. As part of the potential analysis, the main features and development trends of the Thuringia logistics industry were captured and put into the context of current market developments.
To focus on the strengths of the Thuringia mobility and logistics sector and to increase development opportunities, politics and economy have to work together in a more coordinated way, the study emphasises. That’s why it’s recommended that existing strengths are supported in areas such as cross-sector cooperation and innovation, for example in the future fields of integrated mobility/transport systems, ‘smart cities’, ‘smart factories’ and intelligent mobile services.
The study was developed by the Bauhaus University, Weimar, and the Berlin consulting firm AHP, commissioned by the Thuringia state government, and in collaboration with Thuringia Logistics Network and LEG Thüringen.
